I have read of, and now experienced, getting paint and primer to adhere to the resin used in the heads of certain martian figures.

For earlier models, I used Krylon Fusion, but I am having a lot of issues with the propellant of spray paint.

Has anyone an idea on how to prime and paint the resin?

I haven’t primed anything resin as of yet, but I have an unprimed Harvester and Scientist that I assume have resin heads. I’ll prime them in the coming weeks, so I’ll let you know it turned out.

Turns out ‘coming weeks’ meant ‘tomorrow’. I just collected my tripods from drying, and they turned out well. The primer is stuck firm on, with the only flaws being numerous small bubbles and primer pooling in the recesses of the hoods, both of which can be fixed with a coat of paint and bad eyesight (both of which I have).

The primer I used was Fine Surface Primer (L) Light Gray.
